Embedded browser mDolphin V2.0 released

 

The official commercial version for embedded browser mDolphin V2.0 was released by FMSoft on Oct. 30, 2008.

mDolphin is an embedded browser based on the famous open-source browser core WebKit and uses MiniGUI as its underlying graphics system. The latest version not only supports all the features that the previous version mDolphin V1.0 includes, such as supporting for HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0, XML, CSS (2.1 and part of 3.0), XSLT, XPath, DOM (level 2 and past of 3), AJAX (WebAPI), and other popular W3C standards; supporting for JavaScript 1.5 standard; following the standard Netscape plug-in interface; supporting for HTTP 1.1, HTTPS, Cookie and proxy servers; supporting for AJAX applications, mDolphin V2.0 also adds the following new features:

n          Support for multiple character sets and encodings by using UNICODE kernel; Support for bidirectional layout.

n          Support for three rendering modes to meet your needs of the different screen sizes.

n          Support for Linux/uClinux, eCos and other operating systems.

n          Plug-in interface. You can develop your plug-ins to support Flash, MultiMedia, and so on.

n          JavaScript native binding. You can customize JavaScript object and its interface, which will connect web pages with native function together.

n          Protocol extension. You can customize the interface with the support on special protocol, thus easily expand browser support for the protocol.

n         

n          Support for customization of user interface. You can customize the user interface of browser according to your own requirements.

n          Support for the pop-up menu, pop-up window, finding text, current state of tips, looking up the source code and bookmark management.

 

In order to meet the needs of special equipment and customize for users friendly on-demand, and mDolphin adopted a modular, scalable architecture, therefore, FMSoft provides three different versions of demo in the applications of PC, mobile and IPTV. That makes the second development easier, the users can develop the browser with its own features according to their requirement.
